Description
I will never be happy to paint in one particular style. I love to experiment and today I chose to try a technique called fracturing. I love the results. I have always wanted to find a way to marry realism with abstract and I think that's what I've accomplished here.
Pears are a favorite subject for artists to paint, perhaps due to their glorious imperfections of shape and color. Maybe it's the way you can artfully arrange them, some standing and some toppled over on their sides.
I love all the shades of green I've put into mine, from a soft yellow green to a deep forest green. I also love the texture imparted by the fracturing technique.
This was a fun experiment and I can't wait to try another painting with the same fracturing technique.
