Description
I've been painting for several years now and I've always been hesitant to paint things which are personal to me. I'm afraid of tampering with my beautiful memories. I didn't want to mess them up. But I've always loved this photograph of my son and decided to give it a shot.
The cowboy outfit was a gift from my parents. The vest and chaps were a rust colored suede. I paired it with a demin shirt and jeans, added a hat and although it's perhaps not politically correct today, a six shooter. (Twenty two years ago we didn't think twice about such things)
Once you dress a kid in such a get up nature quickly takes over. Andy developed a swagger. This kid always had a stick in his hand, perfect for poking whatever was lying about. I remember it being hot that day so he found a tree and leaning against it, used the stick to clean some dirt from his boot.
Click. Beautiful memory.
