Artist's Description
Karyn Robinson, Gilbert, Arizona
The saguaro cactus is the undisputed king of the Sonoran desert. They can live for hundreds of years. This mighty specimen is painted in shades of green and the bright red background brings the heat.
The saguaro cactus (Carnegiea gigantea) is one of the defining plants of the Sonoran Desert. About Karyn Robinson
Robinson grew up in the midwest and has lived in Arizona with her husband Jeff for more than 25 years. "When we moved to the southwest I was immediately taken with the desert's exotic beauty. If I can just continue to paint and share my work with...

Love the colors in this - the bold, two color palette is very impactful - and the majestic cactus is beautifully distilled. In the Best of Minimalism group, features depend on nominations by members; this is one of my two pod's for April 20.
