Description
"Solitude", an oil painting by Karyn Robinson. Photo credit: Andrew Robinson
This is mile 315 on the Pacific Crest Trail. A trail which begins at the United States border with Mexico, snakes its way through California, Oregon, and Washington, and ends 2659 miles later at the border with Canada.
My son and his girlfriend hiked 1000 miles of the trail and have plans to complete the trip in the coming years.
The first 700 miles is desert and Andy thought it was some of the prettiest, despite the snakes and something toxic to the skin called 'Poodlebush".
The painting is based on his photo.

Thanks for braving the elements that I might enjoy the view from afar, Karyn. I appreciate the narrative, and now, the work even more!
