Description
While I love old buildings, I'm always happy to see them preserved and adapted to present day needs so that they can continue to serve the public. Case in point, Union Station in Los Angeles. Part old, Part new.
Built in 1939 and considered to be one of the "last great railway stations" Union Station today is still a hub of transportation for Southern California serving 60,000 passengers daily as they access Amtrak trains.
This beautiful skylight is part of an addition to the original structure and just like the older details it is equally striking in it's own way. The quality and quantity of natural light that floods the space below is inspiring.
