The Arizona desert sky is filled with a billion stars and you can see them softly shimmer behind these friendly giants. The moonlight plays tricks with the shadows. The silvery moon light lands gently on the cacti giving them an other-worldly glow.

The desert is beautiful by day but takes on a different feeling lit by just the glowing full moon. All the creatures who work so hard to conserve their energy under the scorching sun suddenly become very industrious by night.

A coyote's howl pierces the quiet. An owl joins in. You hear the scurrying of tiny feet, or maybe just think you do. The desert comes alive.

Robinson grew up in the midwest and has lived in Arizona with her husband Jeff for more than 25 years. "When we moved to the southwest I was immediately taken with the desert's exotic beauty. Where some see only rocks and dirt, I see majesty. I love the sculptural shapes of the cacti and the way light and shadow plays on their forms." In addition to her contemporary take on southwestern art, Robinson enjoys painting abstracts, unusual objects (check out her robot painting, A Boy and His Dog) and capturing people at play.
