"Old Point Loma Lighthouse" by Karyn Robinson
The Point Loma Lighthouse is well worth the drive up the big hill to Cabrillo National Monument. Seeing the lighthouse is just on of the pleasures. The view is spectacular and it's obvious why the location was this lighthouse was chosen.

You'll also find a great museum and gift shop at the point and if you drive down to the beach, you'll discover a wonderful tide pool.

One day my husband and I hope to set sail, and discover more lighthouses. To me, they are beautiful structures and reminders of a time gone by.

Robinson grew up in the midwest and has lived in Arizona with her husband Jeff for more than 25 years. "When we moved to the southwest I was immediately taken with the desert's exotic beauty. Where some see only rocks and dirt, I see majesty. I love the sculptural shapes of the cacti and the way light and shadow plays on their forms." In addition to her contemporary take on southwestern art, Robinson enjoys painting abstracts, unusual objects (check out her robot painting, A Boy and His Dog) and capturing people at play.
