Ask me what fall in the southwest looks like and I won't talk about cacti or cottonwoods. Fall in the southwest is chile roasting time. Peppers come from the field in bushels and then to burlap sacks. These beauties are ready to be roasted which mellows the heat just a little. If you don't like the heat stay away from the seeds, and if the chile you just ate is a little to hot too handle reach for the milk or sour cream, not water.
Of course you can just look at them too. This piece is perfect for the southwestern kitchen any time of year.
Robinson grew up in the midwest and has lived in Arizona with her husband Jeff for more than 25 years. "When we moved to the southwest I was immediately taken with the desert's exotic beauty. Where some see only rocks and dirt, I see majesty. I love the sculptural shapes of the cacti and the way light and shadow plays on their forms." In addition to her contemporary take on southwestern art, Robinson enjoys painting abstracts, unusual objects (check out her robot painting, A Boy and His Dog) and capturing people at play.
