Every mother who has taken a young child to the beach remembers this moment. Dropping those little feet into the cool water for the first time. Trying to imagine what he's thinking exposed to so many experiences and sensations for the first time; the smell of the salt water, the roar of the waves, the soft sand that is constantly changing. It's a memory she will be replaying in her mind for days, maybe even years. For the baby, it's yet another 'first' to be checked off on his list of life experiences.
It's nice to be able to revisit this moment. To be taken back to that bright day on the beach, perhaps many, many years ago. Close your eyes and hear the gulls, feel the breeze, and listen to those little squeals of laughter.
Robinson grew up in the midwest and has lived in Arizona with her husband Jeff for more than 25 years. "When we moved to the southwest I was immediately taken with the desert's exotic beauty. Where some see only rocks and dirt, I see majesty. I love the sculptural shapes of the cacti and the way light and shadow plays on their forms." In addition to her contemporary take on southwestern art, Robinson enjoys painting abstracts, unusual objects (check out her robot painting, A Boy and His Dog) and capturing people at play.
