I titled this piece "Off To Join the Circus" because the red and white stripes remind me of a circus tent which reminds me of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus I attended with my family every year when I was a child.
If you look closely you'll also see the soft pink tu-tu of the beautiful bareback rider, the bright red of the Ring Master's coat, the orange of the lion's mane, the bright blue of the clown's oversized shoes and the bright yellow spot light which drew your attention to the center ring.
All you need now is a bag of peanuts and an overactive imagination and you're all set!
Robinson grew up in the midwest and has lived in Arizona with her husband Jeff for more than 25 years. "When we moved to the southwest I was immediately taken with the desert's exotic beauty. Where some see only rocks and dirt, I see majesty. I love the sculptural shapes of the cacti and the way light and shadow plays on their forms." In addition to her contemporary take on southwestern art, Robinson enjoys painting abstracts, unusual objects (check out her robot painting, A Boy and His Dog) and capturing people at play.
