It's 2am in Portland, Oregon and outside, snow is falling. It is quiet. The streets are empty. An occasional passing car leaves tracks in the accumulating snow. When the car passes the silence returns.
The snow has stolen nearly all color from the scene and created its own palette of shades of gray. The only hint of color comes from a bank sign whose bright orange light illuminates a patch of ground creating a misleading sense of warmth.
It's 2am in Portland, and it is quiet.
Robinson grew up in the midwest and has lived in Arizona with her husband Jeff for more than 25 years. "When we moved to the southwest I was immediately taken with the desert's exotic beauty. Where some see only rocks and dirt, I see majesty. I love the sculptural shapes of the cacti and the way light and shadow plays on their forms." In addition to her contemporary take on southwestern art, Robinson enjoys painting abstracts, unusual objects (check out her robot painting, A Boy and His Dog) and capturing people at play.
