Description
Point and counterpoint. The perfectly round shape of the barrel cactus is in contrast to the irregularly shaped river rocks. The sharp needles are in contrast to the smooth feel of the stones. Barrel cactus are so sculptural and in the right setting can feel like a work of art. The unique perspective is what makes this photograph interesting. There is a real sense of texture as well. I also like how the grey tones in the stones sets off the yellow and green shades in the plant.
