Phoenix International Airport
Waiting gave me time to look around. First at eye level...the people around getting off the planes, others waiting to board, kids who can't sit still, older folks who can hardly move.
When nothing I see provides interest any longer my gaze moves upwards and, wow, what's that?
Little pieces of sky directly over my head. Pieces of sunshine march down the wall. The light and shadows change constantly, shifting even faster than the toddlers on their parent's knees.
About Karyn Robinson
Robinson grew up in the midwest and has lived in Arizona with her husband Jeff for more than 25 years. "When we moved to the southwest I was immediately taken with the desert's exotic beauty. Where some see only rocks and dirt, I see majesty. I love the sculptural shapes of the cacti and the way light and shadow plays on their forms." In addition to her contemporary take on southwestern art, Robinson enjoys painting abstracts, unusual objects (check out her robot painting, A Boy and His Dog) and capturing people at play. "Sometimes I feel that there is not enough time in the day to paint everything I want to paint. I'm so captivated by this wonderful, beautiful world.
