It may be a gloomy, overcast day but that won't stop a kid from finding some fun. In this case it's a puddle just right for splashing away his cares. Or her cares. Who knows who's under that bright yellow slicker.
I imagine this is why they have Mud Rooms in homes in Portland and Seattle. Places where rain is as common as sunshine in my home state of Arizona. I can imagine all the mud that gets tracked into the house. I have to admit, sunshine is a lot easier to clean up after. Although, after living in Arizona for twenty five years I've always said there are two things I'll never complain about again, 'cold' and 'rain'.
As far as I'm concerned it can rain every day and I would be happy. As happy as my little puddle jumper.
About Karyn Robinson
Robinson grew up in the midwest and has lived in Arizona with her husband Jeff for more than 25 years. "When we moved to the southwest I was immediately taken with the desert's exotic beauty. Where some see only rocks and dirt, I see majesty. I love the sculptural shapes of the cacti and the way light and shadow plays on their forms." In addition to her contemporary take on southwestern art, Robinson enjoys painting abstracts, unusual objects (check out her robot painting, A Boy and His Dog) and capturing people at play.
