Artist's Description

I love this picture I call, 'Basket Full of Sunshine'. I like to imagine the artists who created these little hand painted bits of Mexican pottery, deciding what color for the rays and the faces, but always the same pink color for the lips.

A basket full of smiles.
A basket full of cheerfulness.
A basket full of wide-eyed wonder.

I think this image would be wonderful in a southwestern nursery or in a young child's room.

I took the photograph while visiting one of the most beautiful places on earth - Sedona, Arizona, but I could have taken a similar shot anywhere in the southwest, Phoenix, Tucson, in New Mexico, Texas or California. The smiling sun face is a recurring motif and a favorite of artists in the west and southwest.

In addition to her contemporary take on southwestern art, Robinson enjoys painting abstracts, unusual objects (check out her robot painting, A Boy and His Dog) and capturing people at play. "Sometimes I feel that there is not enough time in the day to paint everything I want to paint. I'm so captivated by this wonderful, beautiful world. If I can just continue to paint and share my work with...
