'Food Truck Friday' - an original oil painting by Karyn Robinson
For several years now the movable feast which is the Gilbert Food Court has been feeding hungry residents of my town. Every Friday evening these mobile entrepreneurs circle the wagons to hustle their culinary creations to the hungry masses.
The variety of offerings is impressive. Whether you want Pho, lobster, a gourmet grilled cheese sandwich, or maybe just a humble taco, you'll find it at the Gilbert Food Court.
On one particular evening I came upon this scene. The glow from the Rancher's Smokehouse truck drew the barbecue lovers in like moths to a flame. I liked the awning softly bouncing the light, the way the light quickly faded away leaving only the glow of the LED lights by which the cowgirl worked.
I think the food truck business is a tough one. These nomadic chefs work hard for the money and some Friday night you might want to give one a try. I know they'll appreciate the business.
