Description
"Chicken", an original oil painting by Karyn Robinson
There are more chickens in the world than any other bird. It is one of the most common and widespread domestic birds. I think they are interesting and I was surprised to learn that besides providing us with farm fresh eggs, chickens are very loving pets that like to be held and petted. Who knew?
Currently, the American Poultry Association recognizes around 60 breeds. I don't know which I've painted here, but I think she's a good looking specimen.
